What's love got to do, got to do with it? What's love but a sweet old-fashioned notion?*
Inspiriert durch die schicksalhafte Beziehung der beiden griechischen Göttinnen Pallas und Athena, verwandelt Samantha Bohatsch den Projektraum flamingo für seine zweite Ausstellung in einen Raum bühnenhafter (Re-)Inszenierung. Ihre multimediale Installation lässt sie durch malerische, skulpturale, räumliche und performative Eingriffen entstehen. Hier treffen eigene und gefundene, subjektive und kollektive sowie zeitgenößische und historische Narrationen zusammen, deren Erzählstränge Bohatsch zwischen Verschmelzung und Eigenständigkeit oszillieren lässt. So wird nicht nur die Authentizität jener mythologischen Sage und ihre Überlieferung einer zeitgemäßen Überprüfung und Fortschreibung unterzogen, sondern insbesondere eine abstrakte Projektionsfläche geschaffen. Die Ausstellung “Pallas” kreiert damit einen offenen Kontext, in welchem diversen Identitäten ein Raum für Identifikation zugesprochen wird und in welchem nicht nur opposites attract*.

What's love got to do, got to do with it? What's love but a sweet old-fashioned notion?*
Inspired by the fateful relationship between the Greek goddess Athena and the warrioress Pallas, Samantha Bohatsch transforms the flamingo project space–for its second solo exhibition–into a scene of stage-like (re-)enactment. Through painterly, sculptural, spatial, and performative interventions, she creates a multimedia installation, which balances different temporalities. Personal and found, subjective and collective as well as contemporary and historical narratives come together, whose threads oscillate between fusion and independence. Her installation not only reviews and questions the authenticity of the mythological saga and its heritage, but also arouses an abstract projection surface. The exhibition "Pallas" thus creates an open context in which diverse identities are assigned a space for identification and in which not only opposites attract*.
